IENS is synonymous with independent restaurant information. The reviews written by IENS' editorial staff from hundreds of individual reviews that IENS collects are the building blocks of the their web site and book series for each of the major cities of the Netherlands. TinyStocks, in collaboration with IENS, is now proud to be able to offer the IENS Restaurant Guide for the Palm OS® platform.
Quickly search through hundreds of restaurants in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht and Maastricht. Search by cuisine, by neighbourhood, by street name, and by more than 40 restaurant characteristics including what credit cards are accepted, wether there is a children menu or even if the restaurant is reachable by boat.
 The IENS Restaurant Edition 2008/9 requires a minimum of Palm OS® 3.5 and is integrated with Google Maps. With a Treo phone you can directly call a restaurant.

De IENS restaurantgids editie 2008/9 werkt op alle Palm computers met minimaal Palm OS 3.5 en is volledig geintegreerd met Google Maps. Met een Treo telefoon kunt u bovendien direct een restaurant bellen.

Download the latest version from the download page.
|

Unzip the downloaded file to a local directoryon your hard disk. Using for example WinZip (Windows) or StuffIt (Mac).

Windows:
|

|
Launch the Palm Instal Tool from the Windows Start menu and install the files below.
|
|
Mac:
|
|
|
Select Install Handheld Files from the HotSync menu in the Palm Desktop.
|

Install the main IENS restaurant program:
|
|
|
For English, install: Iens.prc
For Dutch, install: Iens_NL.prc
|

Install the database(s) that you have purchased. For example:
|
|
|
Amsterdam: IENS_Amsterdam_nl.pdb
Zuid Holland: IENS_ZuidHolland_nl.pdb
etc..
Databases can also be installed on a removable card to save space in main memory. They should be installed in the directory:
/PALM/Launcher

Download de nieuwste versie van de downloadpagina.

Pak het gecomprimeerde bestand uit met bijvoorbeeld winzip (Windows) of Stuffit (Mac).

Windows:

Start het Palm installatieprogramma vanuit het Windows Start Menu en installeer de onderstaande files.

Mac:

|
Kies Install Handheld files uit het Hotsync menu in Palm desktop (Je moet dus eerst Palm desktop starten).

Installeer het IENS programma:

Engels: Iens.prc
Nederlands: Iens_NL.prc

Installeer de databases die je gekocht hebt. Bijvoorbeeld:

Amsterdam: IENS_Amsterdam_nl.pdb
Rotterdam: IENS_ZuidHolland_nl.pdb
etc..
Databases kunnen ook op een verwijderbare geheugenkaart gezet worden om hoofdgeheugen te besparen.

 Main Screen
- If more than one book has been installed, select the desired book from the top right popup:
- Select a type of cuisine or neighborhood if desired.
- Tap on Name, Food or € to sort by that column (tap repeatedly to switch sorting direction). Note: sorting a database that is on a card can take a long time.
- Search allows you to search on all sort criterias such as name, street, postcode, attributes, etc.
- Tap on
 to reset the view (e.g.: after a search) to all kitchens and all areas.
- Start typing the name of a restaurant to make the list scroll automatically.
- Tap on a restaurant to display it.
- Treo:
  scrolls one restaurant at a time.   scrolls one page at a time. Press Center to display the restaurant at the top of the list.

Displays the restaurant's information.
Tap on one of the 3 sections to zoom it, making it easier to read.
Tap on  to open the restaurant score card.
Tap on  to find the restaurant in Google Maps. Google Maps must be installed!
Treo: Tap on  to call the restaurant. |

Search for the perfect restaurant.
Tap on "Select" to open the advanced search attribute selection window. |
