Settings

The settings dialog is displayed when the program is run for the first time and can be open again at anytime by selecting "Settings" from the application menu.

Timezone

Football 2006 will display all times in local Germany time and in parenthesis in your local time. Therefore it is important to correctly set your time zone and if you are using summer time (DST) or not.

For example - the time displayed like this: "20:30 (14:30)" means 20:30 in Germany and 14:30 in your local timezone.

Timezone examples:

• Europe:
  • Ireland, Portugal and U.K.: GMT+0 and DST.
  • Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden: GMT+1 and DST.
  • Finland, Greece: GMT+2 and DST.
• North America:
  • East coast: GMT-5 and DST.
  • Central: GMT-6 and DST.
  • Mexico: GMT-6 and DST.
  • USA - AZ, CO, ID, MT, NE, NM, ND, SD, UT, WY: GMT-7 and DST.
  • West coast select GMT-8 and DST.
• South America:
  • Argentina, Brasil: GMT-3, no DST.
  • Chile: GMT-4, no DST.
  • Venezuela: GMT-4, no DST.
  • Colombia: GMT-5, no DST.
• Asia:
  • China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan: GMT+8, no DST.
  • Tokyo, Seoul: GMT+9, no DST.
  • Australia (Sydney): GMT+10, no DST.
  • New Zealand: GMT+12, no DST.

Football 2006 can remind you when an important game is being played (see next section). Set the number of minutes that you want the alarm to sound before the game.

Network Settings

The network settings are used when connecting you Palm OS® device to the Internet to retrieve the latest scores wirelessly (GPRS/WiFi/Sprint/Verizon). If using GPRS/Sprint/Veizon, you must have a data plan with your phone provider.

Scores

Enter the scores of each game and press the Refresh button to see the statistics appear in the table.

Tap on the table legend to see what each column in the stats table represents:

Tap on the different icons to see when and where a particular game will be played. Press "Add Alarm" to add a remainder in your datebook. An alarm will be played before the game starts.

After entering some scores, check out the next round to see who has the best chances for qualifying.

 Downloading Scores

If you dont have time to keep track of all the scores you can download them from our server:

• GPRS/WiFi/Sprint/Verizon : Press the antenna icon on the main screen to download the scores wirelessly through your mobile phone or through a wifi connection.
  
  NOTE: in order to use the wireless update feature, your Palm OS® handheld must already be properly configured to connect to the Internet via a mobile phone or wifi.
  
  NOTA: Para utilizar la función de puesta al dia de los resultados, su Palm debe ya estar configurado para conectarse en red via teléfono móvil.
  
  
• HotSync : Download and install the "Football 2006 HotSync Conduit". Each time you do a HotSync the latest scores will be downloaded. This feature is available on Windows computers only. Football 2006 must be installed in main memory and not on a SD card in order to use this feature.
  
  Proxy: if your computer requires a proxy server to connect to the internet, click on the HotSync icon in the Windows taskbar, select "Custom...", click on "Football 2006", press "Change", go to the "Net" tab, click on the "Use Proxy" checkbox and enter your proxy server and port. If you dont know what these settings should be, it is best to ask your network administrator.
  
  Uninstalling: Open the Windows Control Panel, select "Add/Remove Programs", "Football 2006", "Remove".

Matches

Tap on the calendar to see what matches will be playing on that day. Shows at the bottom of the screen the current date and how many days are left until the start of the competition.
